Artist Statement Of Intent

I'll give you a brief commentary on how I approach my work. I explore many themes in my art and tend to work in a series. Producing work on a theme helps me focus and solve the artistic puzzle of line, shape, colors, form and space. My printmaking, now, is totally different than when I was a student at the U of Illinois. I have been modernized at the U of Colorado-Boulder by using the computer as a tool to develop ideas and produce images that are transferred to photo-sensitive plates and only than are printed by traditional hand pulled printmaking processes. I have learned to use the digital camera, the scanner and Photoshop on the computer. I work with many types of print-making techniques, inks and presses. The two major differences in making my intaglio and lithography prints now are in the use of the computer to "draw" the image and the use of light sensitive plates.
